Privacy Policy

Last updated: March 2026

Status: This service is currently under active development. This policy may be updated as features are added.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how SineAuth ("we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use our authentication service.

2. Information We Collect

Information You Provide

  • Account credentials: Email address and password (stored securely as a hash; we never store plain-text passwords)
  • Profile information: Display name and profile picture, if provided

Information Collected Automatically

  • Log data: IP address, access timestamps, and authentication events (login attempts, password resets)
  • Device information: Security key identifiers, as needed for two-factor authentication

Third-Party Authentication

We currently support Google sign-in for autonomous accounts. If you choose to authenticate with Google, we may receive basic profile information such as your name, email address, profile image, and Google’s indication of whether the email address is verified.

We use that information to create or access your SineAuth account, support account linking, and show your profile information inside the service. We do not use your Google account to access other Google services.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use collected information to:

  • Authenticate your identity and provide access to the service
  • Maintain account security and detect unauthorized access
  • Communicate with you about your account (e.g., password resets, security alerts)
  • Improve and develop the service

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data to third parties.

We may share information only if required by law, valid court order, or to protect our legal rights.

5. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data, including:

  • Handling of passwords using secure hashing algorithms
  • HTTPS encryption for data in transit
  • Encrypted LUKS storage for data-at-rest protection

6. Data Retention

We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. If you request account deletion from the User Account panel, it'll be deleted immediately.

We don't perform soft-deletes, therefore once your account is deleted, all its related data will be lost and irrecoverable.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the right to:

  • Access the personal data we hold about you
  • Request correction of inaccurate data
  • Request deletion of your account and associated data
  • Withdraw consent where processing is based on consent

To exercise these rights, contact us at the address below.

8. Changes to This Policy

As this service is under development, we may update this policy to reflect new features or practices.
